dear collegues,
wish to warn all parties about fraudulent actions of the above mentioned
crooks .
I have been acting as excl broker and competitive brokers since 12
years in this market and since 5 years acting as owner of AMBARLI SHIPPING
CO. but never faced with a problem like below one which happened yesterday
evening. Never had a black operation or never got black money of anyone
since the beg of my career but people dont hesitate to do so, to steal Money.
Here is the story :
M/s Flag-Masters Shipping Ltd. as "brokers" have approached us offering a
cargo of 800 mt steel plates from port of Constantza to Nemrut bss LIFO fr accnt JSW ISPAT,INDIA which was fit perfectly for our close Owners vessel MV RASIM KAPTAN 1 which was dead spot in BOURGAS port on 13.02.2011
Just after a very easy and quick negotiation - we received quick stem confirmation and vessel was considered fixed clean . Owners quickly remitted Eur 8.000 to agents given bank accnt
for formalities and mtime authorized master to sail the vsl to loading port
and vsl arrived during night to port. But when vsl arrived and tried to
contact agency no one replied and numbers were not reachable. Another agency
assisted master and anchored the vsl by their name.
In the mrng today we contacted urgently with the broker and he explained tt
all in order,agency is at port for formalities to berth her at 15:00 pm.
But no info rcvd and the agency was stil unreachable. Additionally the
broker is not reachable since this mrng.
After tt we asked to close friends in Constantza and Tunisia to check about
these "chrts brokers" and most of all abt these "agents".
with not so much surprise... found out that none of them was known in the
area, also, learnt tt all communication numbers at both ends were the
numbers of hotel rooms.
Would appreciate you to inform as many shipping people as possible order to
stop these crooks` monkey jobs and to kick them out of the shipping market.

After arrival of a vessel we could not reach agent and by any means of communication.
Unfortunately before this moment we have already paid for calling at Alexandria amount in 5 700,00 USD and for stevedore work 26 000,00 USD and could not return it in time

Recently after checking this situation we had seen that it is not sole matter in shipping market. We received too late at least two similar warnings with the same scenario.

"charterers" name involved is Tramo Shipping !!! beware !!!
They are charging proforma d/a`s and then quiting the ships !!!!

to Constanza which seemed to fit perfectly for our close Owners vessel which was opening in Cyprus end of december.
upon a very easy and quick negotiation - except for the "liner in" terms and Charter`s Agents which seemed to be compulsory conditions - have received in amazing quick time the stem confirmation basis of which vessel was considered fixed clean
view of above too quick definition of fixture, some doubts arose, so that we asked to
close friends in Lebanon to check about these "chrts brokers" and most of all abt these "agents".
with not so much surprise... found out that none of them was known in the area,
moreover, was informed that other 2 owners were approached with same cheap trick
such fraudulent actions of these people who used the name of a 1st class chrts behind
their back (m/s JSW Ispat Steels India who are fully unaware about these fake voyages )
were leading to receive advance of d/a + stevedoring at Beirut - about usd 35.000 according
to the proforma received throught these "agents" and then to disappear
would appreciate you to inform as many shipping people as possible order to stop
these crooks` monkey jobs and to kick them out of the shipping market
all details of this fake fixture.. finally and luckely not performed as discovered timely...

Thank-you for the warning letter. We also had similar situation however we checked before paying about the agent and cargo and it seemed nobody knew about them, so it saved 50.000usd for the Owner.
It seems this is a new type of fraud going on.

We also hv been approached 7/02 by these people (unknown to us before) offering us a steel plates accnt JSW Ispat form Samsun to Volos liner in terms
( Chrts cfm/gtee liner in exp/stevedoring costs Euro 8,- pmt).
They gave reference on ships and I tired to check their background with Owners. Some ships just do not exist , probably,
the Owners of other ships cudn`t recollect such fixture and brokers.
Further investigating found couple of warning letters on them ( as herebelow) and immediately dropped this business w/out
any further development. After I said to the broker Tramo-Shipping , Istanbul (Albert Salim) abt bad references on them,
phone calls from him and mail ceased
